What is a False Prophet

This article was inspired by a comment that I received on "How to Deal with Demons" as you can see to reply to this persons comment took some research. Simply comment to long to leave as a comment.

Prophet Russ Walden and his wife both are false prophets.  They both have deceiving spirits.

Just by visiting their site and videos.  I have determined they are false prophets.  I will point out why they are false prophets.

Courses Teaching You How to be a Prophet for Donation of $75.  You can only receive the gift of prophecy by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.  ( Not everyone that is anointed gets the gift of prophecy)  prophecy is a gift of the Holy Spirit. Anyone offering to teach you how to be a prophet is not a prophet of God and the Holy Spirit.

Someone Who Claims to be Able to Intepet Dreams.  In Genesis 40:8 it clearly states. “We both had dreams,” they answered, “but there is no one to interpret them.”Then Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”The Bible defines a dream in Job 33:15

"In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;". The Bible says several things in this one verse. First of all, a dream is a vision of the night. The verse also teaches that a dream occurs when deep sleep falls upon men.

According to the Bible, a vision is something that occurs when a man is awake, while a dream is something that occurs when a man is asleep. Some who study dreams say that we are always dreaming when we sleep, but we only remember the dreams right before we awake.

This would actually fit with the scriptures in several cases where men remember a dream that actually woke them up.  Zechariah 10:2 diviners see visions that lie; they tell dreams that are false, they give comfort in vain.  A dream can serve as a warning or confirmation.

For someone to intepet dreams no.  Please correct me if I am wrong but I cannot back up with scripture that someone has the power or gift to intepet dreams.
No Mention of Jesus.  I see Lord mentioned but that does not mean they are talking about the Lord Jesus.

Here is the definition of Lord in the Webster dictionary.  God Here is the definition of God

1Corinthians 12:11-12 - But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.

Read and understand this verse? The Holy Spirit distributes his gifts as "he" wills, not as "you" will, not your pastor wills, or anyone else. You can't practice or learn it! You can't buy it! You can't earn it! Stop seeking the gift and start seeking the giver of the gift.

Matthew 7:22 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?'

Matthew 7:23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'

eremiah 23:26 - "How long? Is there anything in the hearts of the prophets who prophesy falsehood, even these prophets of the deception of their own heart.

If the person in question is giving personal "feel good" readings to members of the congregation and/or has a weekly "Word from the Lord", I'm sorry, but chances are they are probably "not" true messengers from God!

Some of these self proclaimed prophetic seer's seem to hear from God more every week than Adam, Moses, Noah, Joseph, Abraham and Jesus did during their entire lifetimes and ministries! (Put together!) You can tell a tree by its fruit! The difference between a psychic and a prophet are this: A psychic tells your future for fun, profit, entertainment etc.. A True messenger foretells Gods works. (Period)

The self proclaimed prophets of today, entice you, to keep you coming back for another "fix" constantly. You don't constantly need someone to tell you what is going to happen tomorrow, you only need faith in God that he will make tomorrow go well for you. (The key word here is faith)

Use common sense! The "only" connection between you and God, is Jesus Christ! Not Mary, not your pastor and not someone claiming to be gifted! I can save you the trouble! Skip the prophet! Seek the Lord with all your heart and he "will" give you the desires of your heart! Miracle! Healing! You name it! If God really deems it necessary to send someone to you, you'll know them!

How to Recognize a False Prophet

Dr. David R. Reagan backs up with scripture and exposes how false prophets teach and deceive those that are desperate for answers.  False prophets prey on the weak and variable which is found in the churches rehabs act...

Visit Dr. Davids post he explains in simple to understand English what and how a false prophet operates to deceive their victims. (You)

How to become a prophet - for dummies.

This is a satirical manual lampooning prophet Muhammad (may pee-s be upon him) and to a lesser extent Jesus and all other prophets.
Why become a prophet?

Here are some of the reasons why you might want to become a prophet.

You may be a megalomaniac who wishes to dominate everyone and everything on earth and would want everyone on earth to bow to you.
You may wish to be worshipped after you die. What better way than to make people say your name five times a day while bowing towards the city of your birth?

You may be a pervert who wishes to:
Order his adopted son's wife divorced so that you can marry her. (This one makes me want to puke) Ref 1 Ref 2

Want a child wife. A true prophet would rise above the vices of his time. But since you are going to be a fraud this requirement doesn't apply to you.
You may be a homicidal maniac.

By becoming a prophet you can become the lawmaker, lawgiver, lawyer, judge, jury all in one, and all your followers will keep pouring gallons of whitewash over you and all your actions.

So you can indulge in your wildest fantasies without any fear of being punished.

Qualifications required

You must be clever. The 'for dummies' in the title refers to the followers that you are going to defraud. Only dummies can be followers and dummies can never be prophets.

Thou shalt learn the cattle herding. Krishna - The Cowherd, Jesus - The Sheep herd, Muhammed - The Camel Herd, Moses - The Sheep herd, Pashupati/Shiva - Lord of cattle. Four great world religions covering about 90% of mankind have been led by cattle herders.

So there is a significant correlation between herding cattle and herding people. People as a group are no better at thinking than cattle. So if you want to become a successful prophet learn cattle herding. I would suggest you learn horse herding, as cows, sheep and camels are already done.

Monotheism All successful prophets support monotheism alone. If you said there are many gods, other prophets may spring up representing those gods, which we do not want. We want the entire world to worship you (or your god) competing prophets can't be allowed. To avoid competing prophets the first step is to support the notion that there is one and only one god.

Validate all previous prophets. People hate change. So we should change them without their being aware of it. If you outright say that you are the latest and greatest prophet people will know they are changing and they will resist. But if you say you have come to establish what previous prophets have already said, people will think they are not changing at the same time switching to you. See how previous prophets have validated prophets previous to them:

Jesus -> Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. (Matthew 5:17).
Quran -> "The Messiah (Jesus), son of Mary, was no more than a Messenger before whom many Messengers have passed away; and his mother adhered wholly to truthfulness, and they both ate food (as other mortals do). See how We make Our signs clear to them; and see where they are turning away!" (Quran 5:75).

Bahai -> The basic beliefs of the Bahai faith are that all the religions be they Islam, Christianity, Hinduism or even the barbaric tribes of Africa, all of them are from the same divine source. Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Solomon, David, Muhammed, Krishna, Buddha, etc. Were all Prophets, the latest in the line being Baha'ullah.

Call yourself the last prophet of all times Muhammad was the first to recognize that he could be shafted by some future prophet just as he was shafting all previous prophets. To avoid that possibility he called himself the last prophet. But there is a loophole in that claim. He could be relabeled the last prophet of that century or millennium. We don't want ANY future prophet to shaft you. So call yourself the last prophet of all times. By saying this you are usurping the power of God to change his mind and send more prophets but people will never realize that you have usurped god's power to send more prophets.

A person who says they hear from God! But they are moving in a familiar spirit. A person that has no character of Christ! A person that sales prophecy for money!

I found their site Today and I left a request.
I mention that I wasn't making any donation because I'm not working.
They sent me an email giving me 3 days to make a donation.
I replied that Jesus never asked Jairo for money in order to raise up his daughter from the dead.
Jesus also never asked for money from the widow whose son had died before Jesus brought him back to life.
Jesus never requested money before he healed the blind, dumb, deaf, the guy who was by the pool paralyzed,, the leprous, etc...
I too had to keep a secular job while God was using me very heavily in intercession and in the church!-I say heavily because the Lord was the One giving me my assignments for intercession:names of people, cities, nations, situations, etc...
While I understand that every worker deserves their salary, one can't charge others to prophecy for them because Jesus also said "Freely you have received, freely give".
In my email to them I wrote a prayer to God the Father asking Him in the name of Jesus to protect me from every curse from these people.
Nowadays leaders are releasing curses against those who don't agree with them.

I wrote to Russell Walden for a prophecy and stupidly paid a donation (not for a prophecy but because I though they were legit) but months later I haven't heard anything. I've sent 3 more follow up emails trying to contact them and NOTHING. They're snake oil salesmen, scammers and frauds. ALL MEN ARE LIARS Psalm 116:11 STAY AWAY FROM THESE HORRIBLE LYING MONSTERS!!!

First off - have any of you ever been to one of their meetings? Probably not. If you had you would see how they work. Second - their courses never promise to "make" you a prophet. They clearly state that. The courses are to teach you what prophecy is and the correct way to use it. Third - and I know this is a big surprise for you but MINISTRY COSTS MONEY!!! This idea that because something is from the church it should be of no cost is incorrect. I have met Russ and Kitty and know they are of the highest integrity. The misinterpretation of scriptures used to malign this man and woman of God only show ignorance of the understanding of prophesy and victim of unbelief.

I have a ministry of prophecying it does not cost a cent this is wrong false teaching they are doing I've felt it a few years ago with discernment and i did ask someone who writes blogs bout them as i was seeking correction or confirmation just came across this today :) we need to warn people bout them

I know for a fact these people are very dangerous. Before their marriage they were in a adulterous relationship, and lived together openly without benefit of marriage. Ask any of the religious leaders here in is a fact.
Also, the money taken for personal prophecies in spent at the casinos and riverboats....they are heavy gamblers.
However, the most important criterion is Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. No prophetic word is given in the name of the Father. Does God get the glory or do the Walden's get the honor?
These people are not only false prophets...they are practicing witchcraft. Hearing from familiar spirits.

I am making a comment here because i feel something is wrong with Russell Walden father's heart ministry. And I just want to get a confirmation here that my feelings and discernment are right about them as not from God prophecy. The first request I made to them was without donation since i have no work and i don't believe prophets should ask for money, not even prophet Elijah ask for money.Prophet Elijah forbids asking money he forbids taking money even from a king for his prophecy. I did not receive a reply or get the requested prophecy on the first request without a donation. Then I made a second attempt now with donation this time I got my personal prophecy. But that is not the convincing part the one that I disagree most in their website is the prophetic counseling which says "It (prophetic counseling which is a one-on-one prophetic over the phone call similar to psychic sessions) involves a considerable amount of time and therefore we ask that you in appreciation for this make a $200.00 donation to the ministry" Did Jesus ask for money because of considerable amount of time and effort He was giving to the people? Why did they establish a christian ministry just to ask money because of the considerable time and effort needed? The teachings also in the prophetic daily are contrary to the teachings in the bible. I pray to the Lord to forgive me if I am wrong but also to protect me if that ministry is from a different spirit.

It is so easy to type away and say whatever you would like. God will judge those who speak evil against His chosen. It is another thing to speak to someone who you accuse and answer fairly without the twists of truth to your story. Paul mentions many times about giving to ministries as the person's blessings and duty. read Philippians 4; 1 Cor 9 same exact conversation; Jesus also speaks to this in Matthew 10 when He commissions them and tells them that they will be due their just salary for this calling and mission, and not to take much with them in preparation because people will support them and provide everything they need. Paul refers to this as living in the overflow for more than his basic needs were fulfilled and because of this more favor and blessings would be given back to the people from God for what they had done for Paul. He encouraged them to give MORE so they would receive more. Yes that is all in your bible. Freely does not refer to money. It means you did nothing to deserve your giftings and the person receiving did nothing to deserve this blessing meaning no works and worthiness to give and receive. To say that you do not have to support ministries is not biblical. Did not Elijah ask for food before he helped the widow. Her miracle was in blessing the prophet. How do you exactly think all of these people made it day in and day out in the biblical ministry? Next, consider this scenario. The website hosting company had some glitch that went on for over a year where many emails that were supposed to be routed to Father's Heart Ministry went into a dead folder and were not delivered. Let's now imagine that once the problem was discovered, that a group of volunteers were assembled to go through all of those emails. Let's also consider that some of those volunteers did and did not take this responsibility professionally and some did not do what they said they would do. This left some emails not replied to for a second time. How do I know this? I was asked to help, and I did for a few weeks. Now let's all remember that Jesus was called many names including a false prophet even today. Let's also remember that all of His chosen in the Bible were lied about and slandered falsely. Let's now all consider that all of you maybe on the side of the devil speaking evil against God's people. Now let's imagine that you care and will face your Lord and King who you profess to love or care about strongly.

I strongly agree with you they see me as a threat that's why these people keep trying to hinder something that's getting ready to manifest in my life I know I'm getting closer because all these psychis are coming out and trying to reach out and stop it because they want me to use the gift Jesus Christ gave to me and use it in the dark world and that will never happen.and I notice they never mentioned JESUS in none of the emails they sent.

A workman is worthy of his hire! Paul tells us to strive for the best gifts. If someone makes their living from the ministry it is not unfair request donations, especially if his or her calling is to help others to learn to hear the voice of God for their selves Russ Walden Sr. is my dad and I happen to know him and some of the ins and outs of his background and "he always taught all of us his children and others that a good preacher, prophet, teacher, and or an evangelist points the people to the Christ in them, cause Christ in you is your hope for salvation not Christ in me- and knowing this about him I dare say some of the comments above are unfair and half cocked for instance anonymous said "not even prophet Elijah ask for money.Prophet Elijah forbids asking money he forbids taking money even from a king for his prophecy." Ok have they not read 1 kings 17:8 " where Elijah asked the widow woman to make him a cake with the last of her food that she was about to prepare for herself and her child! Can you imagine the faith that that took, both for the widow woman and for Elijah the prophet who asked for such a thing, but look at how her faith was rewarded, and now days I can just imagine some politically correct christian would call such a man some of the names imputed to my dad "Russell Walden Sr of fathers heart ministries" and to answer another one of the anonymous commentators above who says that not every one has the gift of prophecy as if to say that you just cant teach anyone to prophecy, have you not read 1 Corinthians 14:5 where Paul is speaking in regard to the gifts and says he speaks in tongues more than them but would rather that they PROPHESIED so that the church could receive edifying! Now I know I am partial caus I am his son, but I know he is not a snake oil salesman as mentioned above rather someone who knows how to listen to the indwelling word of God and will and can teach others "if they have the faith and or courage to take a deeper walk with him, the FATHER that is!

It saddens me to see the ridiculous lies printed here about Russ and Kitty Walden, whom I personally know. They are two of the most humble, giving and loving people I have ever met. They make no demands for money. They offer courses and other material which they have written- some they give away and some they charge for. I have zero issues with that. Pay them what they have worked hard to produce- and try reading some of it. It might just help you understand how God wants to work in your life. And you might want to stop slandering them and making up falsehoods to fit your own agendas- God is very specific about not harming His prophets. And if you are lying about them- beware- God is not mocked. And lastly, please get an education! Learn grammar and spelling if you are going to continue to slander on the internet (including the author). Otherwise, we will continue to see you as the uneducated boobs you actually are.

I'm not really sure what to say.. all I know is God has spoken directly to me through these daily prophetic words more than once. The Holy Spirit has shocked me on how specific He was to meet me where I was. I support any organization that leads one to the glory of God! If the money is catching your oh so sweet attention- then perhaps money has too large of a space in your heart and your day to day life.

I have off and on since early 2013 followed their prophetic words. I've gone days in a row reading them and also have gone a month or two without reading. When I feel led, I visit their website to receive a prophetic word.. more times than not it is specific in relation to me, intricately spoke volumes to my soul and OH SO convicted me. As far as the money thing.. a christian faith based rehab has brought thousands of young men and women to Jesus (including myself), I received an "Original Design" there by two men I hardly knew, a prophesy for my life. I came to know not simply who Christ was, but who I WAS in Christ... this program is not funded by the state bcuz seperation of church and state.. mens ranch is over $2,000 womens over 4.. its a four month highly intensive program grounded in Gods Word, prayer, self denial, church attendance and most of all- obedience. I believe that if just one day one of these prophecies spoke to you, it would speak to you so intimately and cause your soul to feel a sense of urgency to either step out, or step in to where the Fathers Heart has prepared for you.

Tyler Wade, they are a threat to you and your friends because they are preaching God's word and are ordained by God. I don't even know them or know you, but I can tell they have you shaking in your boots because God is using them in his Kingdom. They are a threat to you and your friends which are around you...and those aren't earthly friends Im referring too...

All I will say is I posted a truthful comment on Russell Waldens Youtube page, and I was immediately physically attacked by demonic forces. Not really concerned my God Yahweh is greater than Jezebel, Mammon, or Lucifer. In the name of Yeshuah I put the blood between you and me, and break every curse, every act of witchcraft, or instrumentation of attack against me.

May the Lord bless Russell Walden and his ministry. Russell is a man of God and no doubt tithes big into the kingdom of God. He is a true seasoned prophet that is also human. I personally enjoy the daily Prophetic words to the body of Christ that often are spot on and never double up and are in line with the Spirit of the Father. Jesus said " My sheep know My voice". Why would any child of God want to hand over cash to hear a ' word' when you are supposed to hear His voice for Yourself? It's easy to complain and murmur when you don't get the word that you ' want'. For heavens sake grow up, and get to know His voice for yourself.

Prophesy and "the gift "of prophecy are 2 different things..
All can prophesy but the gift of prophecy is different..
Just as all can speak on tongues but the "gift" of tongues delivers something else..
Your dad sent me a prophecy. .I have never doubted the gifting on him..
I did not have to donate ,although many times I requested and said no donation and I never received a prophecy. .
When I said yes I have donated...then I received a prophecy.. had no real substance and anyone could have spoken this vague prophecy that didnt really edify me or comfort me or even make me feel was extremely general and there were zero specifics on anything...
Am I calling him fake ?
No..I am not so stupid as to touch Gods annointed...
I have the mantle of the prophet and I totally disagree with charging people for the word of God..
If a person IS LEAD BY THE LORD to donate ..then great!!
But to ask for an exchange of ANYTHING MATERIAL for a desperate person to hang their hopes on a sharp prophecy ,word of knowledfe and word of wisdom...
Well that is a gorm of extortion. ..even though their hearts are in the right place. ..
I am very wanting to know if they are pre tribulation rapture believers as the answer to that will show me a true hearer of the Fathers Heart

I've known Russell & Kitty Walden for about 4 years now. I've taken some of the prophetic courses offered. In fact Russ & Kitty paid for the last course I took. I have a good job and was able to pay, they just wanted to give a love gift to me, which I accepted graciously.

The courses are about hearing God for yourself so you are not so dependant on man. Through the teachings provided I have never been pressured into accepting the office of a prophet but have been encouraged to hear Gods voice through the modalities of hearing, feeling and seeing. They reserve that appointing of the prophetic office to the Holy Spirit. Their ministry is to encourage and activate an intimate relationship with God through praying and hearing. They teach balance, always referring to the Word of God.

Thank you Russell & Kitty.

I sent a request in Jan 2018 and NO money..Got my prophecy sent 11 months later so they must have tens of thousands come through..I totally disagree with the constant asking for money as well...check out Elishas servant charging for Godly gifts being administered...he copped leprosy in Gods disapproval..
Donations are not your source..God is..
The year before I had Russ send me a free recorded prophecy..It was fluff and very general..Dec this year was also not very detailed was lengthy but could have fit the general Christian populist..
Now the prophecies I got from 2 of his congregation were sharp and tailored to me..Definitely
HOLY Spirit lead...And they are "read my mail" kind of words..
I must be careful that Im not touching Gods annointed here so I believe they have a call but when you demand money for personal counselling sessios it taints the annoinying and opens you to familiar Spirits

I also sent in a 'personal prophetic word request', which I received an email reply back within a month. The 'word' was comforting and encouraging...but towards the end of the long email in mid-sentence was {Name} as if they forgot to insert my name in their form-letter!!!! Perhaps that was God ripping the veil off my eyes, because as your article says, false prophets give 'feel-good' messages that entice and bring you back again and again...I have been reading their "daily word" first thing every morning for a year! I should be reading God's Word (Bible) instead. What sent red flags for me was a year ago I was really struggling and sent them a request then took a couple months for a reply and at the end they wrote "what do you do with a word like this? You sow into it. Never come before the Lord empty handed." (excuse me, but I am always empty handed when I come to God, I have nothing to give Him but my faith love and adoration - and that is all He requires). The email went on to explain that I must give money/seed in order for this 'word' to have power in my life, to "activate" it. Thank you God for finally opening my eyes and turning me back to YOU!
